Countdown to roll-out

July 5 - Howard and the boys will be rolling out Wednesday morning, July 7, in one Dodge caravan towing one pop-up camper as they begin their road trip across the South. Maryrose and I are skipping this part of the trip with its concentration on Confederate ships and battlefields, and will meet up with the guys south of Albuquerque, NM after our Amtrak trek from Charleston-Washington-Chicago, with the final leg on the Southwest Chief.
Two journeys will then blend into one after we rendezvous on Bastille Day as we continue to San Diego, Las Vegas, North Rim Grand Canyon, Bryce, Yellowstone, and Mesa Verde, to name the major points along our route.
The kids will have the opportunity to contribute to this account of the sights and novelties we encounter to give y'all a vividly vicarious travel experience.
