Tarantula Terror

Our campground in New Mexico is infested with tarantulas. These tarantulas feed on the jack rabbits that also infest this campground. So far, we have had one close encounter with one of these fearsome arachnids.

^ Theodore bravely sacrificed his hand to let us see the true size of this eight-legged horror.

Me and Theodore next to the Tarantula.

  2. You guys are entirely too close to the tarantula in these pictures. This is one day of your trip that I'm glad to be home. I'm not even sure I'd like the jack rabbits. And how do the tarantulas feed on the jack rabbits? That's an awful lot of food for one or two spiders - even as big as these guys. Do they live in colonies and send out the crew for a banquet once they've bagged a jack rabbit? And I'm not so crazy about caverns either. What are you looking at so intently, Howard? Are you trying to figure out how many drops it took to make that?
