Traveling all together now from Las Cruces.
Howard here, we have arrived in San Diego and are staying at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado. We have lots to update the blog with but today we experienced our highest and lowest temperatures of the trip. Right now on the beach of the Silver Strand it's 69 degrees. Yesterday, we set up camp at Davis Montham Air Force Base in 107 degree weather. Earlier today, in the desert west of Yuma Arizona, the car thermometer read 118 degrees. Fortunately it is a dry heat and so the heat index, what the heat really feels like to a homo sapien, was probably a mere 112 degrees.
The other notable number is how many miles we've traveled. Since July 6, we've put a total of 3185 miles on the car which includes touring. Our trip back will be a bit longer.
Good night, Howard
